The Peahen in the Rafter

In my November 29 post titled “A Peacock on the Deck”, I shared with you my surprise (and a picture) of a female peafowl, properly called a peahen, standing on my deck and traveling with a rafter of turkeys.  Since that day, I’ve not seen her among the turkeys making their daily trek to the feeder, making me wonder what happened.

On December 19, while reviewing pictures taken from the motion detecting camera trap, the peahen appeared in two frames snapped on December 14 at 1:00 PM.  She’s right-most bird in the pictures below, which you can click for a larger version.

It will be interesting to see if she continues her visits throughout the winter.  And, of course, I still wonder where she came from.
