First Ice on Thayer Lake

Today Enzo and I explored the first stable ice on the lake this season.  There was a light ice skin on part of the lake previously, but the winds broke it up.  This is the first ice that we could take a walk on.

I love how the Winter silences everything.  Aside from the occasional cracking of the ice, there were no sounds at all.  Enzo still can’t figure out how to stop on the ice.  When he runs, he tends to slide 5 feet beyond where he wants to stop.  Gotta find my ice skates!
