On Thursday, we took a ferry to the Aran Islands<\/a>. The weather was perfect.\u00a0 When we arrived at the largest of the islands, we rented bicycles to explore the 4 mile route to D\u00fan Aonghasa<\/a>, a cliff-side fortress that dates back to roughly 500 BC.<\/p>

The bicycle ride was nice, with cow pastures separated by stone walls on one side and the ocean on the other.<\/p>

Today we will be exploring the shops and pubs of the town of Galway.<\/p>
