Aran Islands and Dún Aonghasa

On Thursday, we took a ferry to the Aran Islands. The weather was perfect.  When we arrived at the largest of the islands, we rented bicycles to explore the 4 mile route to Dún Aonghasa, a cliff-side fortress that dates back to roughly 500 BC.

The bicycle ride was nice, with cow pastures separated by stone walls on one side and the ocean on the other.

Today we will be exploring the shops and pubs of the town of Galway.
